The Speedwell is a true plank on frame model built to 3/8" scale. The Hull is 32" long and fully rigged it will be even larger at around 51" long and 40" high. This laser cut kit is made primarily from Alaskan Yellow Cedar with some Boxwood accents. It is sold in chapter installments just like the other Syren projects seen throughout this site.
This is a large model and thus uses a tremendous amount of wood with hundreds and hundreds of laser cut parts. As you might expect, a kit like this will be very expensive. I will mention this so there arent any surprises that this kit will cost $2000 dollars or more when all chapters are made available. New chapters will be released along with the plans and monograph chapters as soon as they are completed on the prototype model.
The monograph is available here as a download for free. A printed monograph is not available in order to try and keep costs for the project at a minimum. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
